The Near East Foundation honors its history by educating the public about America’s first large-scale international philanthropic movement: Near East Relief. We are proud to offer several ways to share this important story with your community.

They Shall Not Perish: The Story of Near East Relief

They Shall Not Perish: The Story of Near East Relief is a downloadable panel exhibition featuring high-quality reproductions of photographs and documents from the NEF archival collection. The 27 panels chronicle the creation, mission, and legacy of Near East Relief.

The exhibition is available free of charge to interested organizations. The exhibitor will be required to sign a detailed Exhibition Agreement governing the use of the materials. NEF will then provide a secure digital download of the exhibition. The exhibitor will print and display the exhibition, and is expected to cover all associated costs. You can request more information on the exhibition here.

Teacher's Guide

Are you an educator looking to incorporate America’s response to the Armenian Genocide into your classroom? NEF has collaborated with the Genocide Education Project, experienced educators, and advocates to produce a downloadable curriculum guide entitled They Shall Not Perish: The Story of Near East Relief.

The guide can function as a standalone educational tool or as a companion to the downloadable panel exhibition of the same name. The curriculum is designed for teachers of middle and high school students. It is an excellent resource for classes studying World War I, world and U.S. history, and Holocaust and genocide studies.

You can download the guide by clicking here.
