Tragedy and Triumph in History: Part II

On March 9th Lily Jebejian and Alice Vranka competed at the Lower Hudson Regional Competition and placed 2nd! The girls were invited to participate after they placed in the top three finalists on National History Day on January 30th. Their project focused on Near East Relief and featured a sample of the typical meal eaten by orphans in NER orphanages (beans and bread), and the oral history of Arpine Terlemezian, an orphan rescued by NER. For the Regional Lily and Alice upgraded their display to look like the Birds’ Nest Orphanage.

Alice and Lily have been invited to the State competition in Cooperstown, NY, on April 29th. Check back soon for updates!
