Tragedy and Triumph in History: Two High School Students Explore Near East Relief for National History Day

On Wednesday, January 30th Bronxville High School freshmen Lily Jebejian and Alice Vranka were selected as one of three finalists for ‘National History Day’ in the Lower Hudson Regional Competition. Their project focused on Near East Relief and featured a sample of the typical meal eaten by orphans in NER orphanages (beans and bread), and the oral history of Arpine Terlemezian, an orphan rescued by NER.

Lily and Alice will participate in the next round at the Regional Competition in Rockland County on March 9th. Check back soon for updates! Good luck, girls!
